Nicky Palmer (Organiser and host)
Nicky has a background in education and psychology and worked for many years in mental health, then drug and alcohol services. She has a psychology degree, a teaching qualification and post graduate training as a counsellor. More recently she has been involved in running music events (which she also DJ’s at).
She has loved yoga for many years now. Her first teacher in 2002 was her best friend (since she was 9!) Jane Collins (see below). She completes her Yoga Teacher training at the end of this year. She has an interest in ideas around yoga, mindfulness mediation and well-being and used mindfulness to help people with emotional issues when she was a counsellor.
“I’m excited about the potential of yoga and mindfulness to help people to live happier, healthier more peaceful lives”
Nicky also loves spending time with her little girl Melody and walking in the Peaks with her friends and family.
Simon Barth (Yoga Teacher)
With a background in psychology, counselling and NLP, Simon tries to offer a little more of an “inner journey” through yoga. His background as a teacher and then mentor in mainstream education gives Simon a special understanding of the barriers to learning and a sensitivity to the individual needs of the learner.
Simon is known for his engaging style and great sense of humour as well as the blissfully relaxing guided meditations at the end of his classes.
